Estate Planning Annual Review Plan
Since 2013, clients and fellow professionals have asked me to offer an annual review or “maintenance” plan for estate planning clients. That way clients know their lawyer will prompt them to update assets held in their trust and to meet with them to discuss life changes.
At McKarcher Law, we wanted to wait until we knew we could provide significant value beyond just an annual meeting. Now, with the advances of technology, the growth of our team, and robust internal systems, we know we can provide significant value.
Below you can click to download and review our Estate Planning Annual Review Plan agreement and then sign up and pay your first annual fee on our secure sign-up page. The agreement details the two plans available and their fees.
Both plan options include:
- creation of and updates as necessary to an asset spreadsheet in our format, providing a single-glance view of your estate assets, titling, beneficiary designations, approximate value, and important notes;
- annual 45-minute phone call or meeting with Josh or Mary to review your updated asset spreadsheet, estate plan, evaluate any issues you’re experiencing that may affect your plan, discuss changes in law, or other helpful discussion related to your estate plan;
- exclusive 1-hour webinars you may attend anonymously or watch later in recorded form, with both an education component and time for answering client-specific questions anonymously, allowing not only the client but also others to benefit from the answer and discussion without disclosing identifying facts;
- brief calls and emails for questions regarding your ongoing trust funding or titling questions, beneficiary designations, financial account maintenance choices, and similar brief inquiries related to existing estate planning documents or instructions; and
- secure, encrypted access to a personalized client platform accessible via smartphone, laptop, tablet/iPad, or desktop for secure messaging, document scanning and uploads, downloading PDFs of your existing documents, and similar functions.
A second plan option provides for an entirely new set of trust or will documents every five years, to ensure your plan remains current with changes in law and revisions you wish to make as life progresses.

Thank you for trusting us with your incredibly important legal work. We hope to continue advising you for many years to come!
